TRIZ Workshop

The UNITEN TRIZ workshop was held on 14/7/11-15/7/11.It was organized by the Deputy Dean Office of Postgraduate and Research (COE) in collaboration with MDEC. The speaker was from Intel and was sponsored by Intel and MDEC. This was made possible with the help from Dr Ong Han See (COE) who is a committee member of Malaysia TRIZ Innovation Association (MyTRIZ). UNITEN TRIZ workshop was funded by Research Management Centre and HRDF. 50 UNITEN staff and 2 participants from TNB Research Sdn. Bhd. attended the workshop. The speaker was Darin Moreira from Intel.

The workshop objectives are:

• Provide an overview of TRIZ concept and tools
• Understand the TRIZ inventive problem solving process
• Gain the fundamentals of inventive problem solving and innovative thinking
• Learn how to solve problems cleverly by applying the TRIZ tools
• Enable immediate usage and enable participants to guide others to use the TRIZ tools
• Generate the interest on TRIZ and motivate participants to learn the full tool-kit of TRIZ tools

In this level, the attendees were highlighted on TRIZ overview which emphasized on the 39 System Parameters of TRIZ and 40 Inventive Principles. The workshop was very successful and the attendees were enthusiastic to know more about TRIZ and are eager to attend the next level workshop.

Participants were given an official MyTRIZ Level 1 practitioner certificate after successfully completing this workshop.

COE Research Workshop

COE conducted a workshop on 4 March 2011 for a peer review of their respective application proposals for Ministry of Higher Education grants. It was a departmental event led by the respective Head of Departments & Units.
