To foster and nurture an excellent culture in supporting research activities in UNITEN.

Mission

We are committed to providing exceptional research support for UNITEN researchers that will encourage continuous and enriching research experience.

Objectives

To provide a dedicated unit that can focus and be fully accountable for all matters related to management of research activities in UNITEN;
To enhance and strengthen UNITEN commitment, infrastructure and management framework towards fostering further innovation and research culture;
To potentially obtain the R&D institution status and hence be eligible for the tax exemption benefits from the government.

Roles

To prepare strategic planning on research and development of UNITEN;
To coordinate and manage all vetting procedures of research proposals;
To coordinate, monitor and audit all research activities in UNITEN;
To promote and nurture research culture in UNITEN;
To conduct staff development programme in order to enhance research skills and competency;
To promote inter-disciplinary and inter-college research activities;
To promote research collaboration with external parties;
To coordinate and liaise with research funding agencies;
To promote commercialisation of research products;
To act as secretariat to UNITEN R&D Committee
